Death was an american death metal band formed in 1983 by Chuck Schuldiner,Rick Rozz and Kam Lee. Chuck Schuldiner was the only original member of death up until his death in 2001.Chuck Schuldiner is considered the (father of death metal ). Death is considered the pioneers of the death metal genre. Death as released 7 albums, 9 demos, 3 live albums and 1 compilation album. Chuck Schuldiner died late 2001 of brain cancer after a 2 year battle with it. Death influenced me to learn how to play death metal drums because of how awesome there beats were and there drum rolls. the first album that got me into the band death was there album leprosy.

Subgenres

Subgenres are genres of music that originated from another genre. There is well over 30 different subgenres of heavy metal such as: Death metal,Black metal,Grindcore,Deathcore,Thrash metal etc... All these types of subgenres use alot of distorted guitars, deep growling vocals, blast beats, quick riffing guitars. The typical amount of BPM's (Beats Per Minute) in these genres usally varies between 180-300. The bands that got me into these types of genres were (Death, Behemoth and Suffocation) because of there crazy blast beats(quick drum rolls), amazing guitars, awesome bass lines and how they can do all these different types of growling( low death growls, screams, screeches and pig squeels)
