Ronald James Padavona (Ronnie James Dio) was born July 10,1942 in Portsmouth Newhampshire. Dio's first band was called ELF where he met Ritch Blackmore while playing a show with Deep Purple. Dio and Blackmore started the band Rainbow whom he played with from 75-59. Dio joined Black Sabbath after kicking Ozzy out of the band.Dio and Sabbath made two albums before Dio quit and started his own band named DIO. Dio went back and forth between Black Sabbath and Dio for the next 30 years before his death in 2010 of stomach cancer.Dio was a main influence for bands such as:Nirvana, Alice and Chains and even influenced me into playing the drums and guitar because of how the band mates play there instruments all the solo's and drum roles.Dio was the inventer of the Devil Horns.

I don't really listen to heavy metal but this blog has pretty good music. I guess the only song I would really listen to would be from the one I'm commenting on. I like the beginning and the video. It really gets the listener excited to know what the songs about and I find it interesting. It's a good choice for music and it would be cool if people took more respect towards it. Good idea and keep going for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your blog. Dio is a good band I have to say. I diden't know that he was first in a band called elf, that was very interesting to learn. Its a shame he had to pass away like he did. He will be missed by fans deeply. My personnal favorite song by Dio is Holy diver. Also I diden't know Dio was the creator of the devil horns. Thank for the information.
