origins of metal

Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that originated in the mid 60's to early 70's mainly in the UK and the US. Heavy metal music uses a lot of distorted guitars, crazy long solos and a lot of strong drum roles. The main influences for heavy metal are Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. Heavy metal often copies there sound from classical rock and the blues adding in there own special sounds.Over passed decades heavy metal has devided into many subgenres including: Black metal, Death metal,Groove metal,Stoner rock etc... Over the years heavy metal has lost its popularity to the subgrenres because of cultural diffrences in the styles also the massive popularity rap has gained since the mid 90's. Over the next couple weeks i will be talking about all the different subgenres and the most popular groups in the history of metal.

  1. Metal music sounds pretty good to listen to. Ido not listen to it, but I know a lot of people who do and they love it. My dad even used to listen to it before he heard rap music and became obsessed with that. I listen to some metal music, but I guess it depends on the ones that sound goo to make me listen to it.

  2. Just thought i would say that you need to start typing and thinking faster cause your really behind. ps i hate heavy metal and i dont understand how anyone can listen to those kinds of sounds and actually be able to call it music. I would never in a million years ever be able to even start liking this kind of music.
